FAQs

What is herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine has been practiced worldwide throughout history. Whether it’s a calming cup of tea or soothing salve, herbal medicine is at play anytime we interact with a plant’s healing virtues. At Althaea Herbals our Registered Herbal Therapists are trained in the Western Herbal Tradition. In this approach we study the patterns found in people, plants and nature to understand healing from a holistic lens.

What kind of conditions can be supported with herbs?

Our dispensary is well stocked to support a wide range of health conditions. Our Herbalists are trained to address all aspects of a person’s wellbeing including physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. If you’re curious about a particular condition, please contact us or book in for a complimentary 15 minute Meet & Greet with one of our Registered Herbal Therapists to learn if herbs are right for you.

How long will it take to see results?

Results differ case to case. Some people report dramatic improvements within days of starting their herbal formulas, while others take more time to see changes. Each person’s health and healing is as unique as they are.

What is a tincture?

Tinctures are one of the primary ways we like to work with herbal medicines. They are concentrated alcoholic extractions of medicinal plants which can be taken internally or used topically for medicinal use. Besides tinctures we also work with teas, salves, infused oils and capsules.
